Christopher Thies Joins Cowboy Tennis for Spring Semester

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team, has added German standout Christopher Thies to its roster for the spring semester, it was announced Friday morning by head coach Dustin Taylor.
The 17-year-old currently has an ITF junior ranking of 187, with a singles World Tennis Number of 17.3 and a doubles World Tennis Number of 25.4.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Christopher Thies to Oklahoma State and the Cowboy Tennis family," Taylor said. "Christopher is not only one of the top recruits in the world, he's one of the most well rounded and mature young men we have come across in recent years."
A class of 2026 graduate, Thies has taken home a singles and doubles title in the J100 Neunkirchen during 2025. These titles are accompanied by single titles from 2023 and 2024 in the J60 Dakar and J60 Schifflange, respectively, and 82 match wins since 2023.
During his time competing in the J100 Neunkirchen, Thies beat out Canada's Joshua Adamson, winning two out of three sets. The singles champion would win 10 out of 13 sets played throughout the tournament.
"Growing up as one of the top German players in his age group, all while attending regular school and graduating a year early," Taylor said. "Showed us that we have something special to work with and we cannot wait for him to join us here in Stillwater."
A consistent and well-rounded player, Oklahoma State is set to welcome Thies to the Cowboy family this spring.
