Lena Girardi Named Big 12 Freshman of the Week

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this season, Oklahoma State's Lena Girardi was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week.
Girardi came off the bench in OSU's final non-conference matchup against Tulsa and dropped 14 points on a 4-of-8 shooting effort while knocking down three 3-pointers.
The 5-11 guard then played 18 minutes in her first league game, helping the Cowgirls to a 91-63 victory against Cincinnati. Girardi scored 13 points while shooting 62.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from beyond the arc.
The native of Purchase, New York becomes the second freshman to earn multiple Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors this season. Girardi was named the season's first freshman of the week on Nov. 10.
