Roy named to Jerry West watch list
October 28, 2025 | Cowboy Basketball
Oklahoma State senior Anthony Roy has been named to the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List.
Â
The award, presented annually by the Basketball Hall of Fame, honors the nation's best player at that position.
Â
The watch list narrows to 10 players in late January, with a Final 5 announced in March. The winner will be revealed at the 2026 Final Four in Indianapolis.
Â
Fans have an opportunity to impact the final tally by casting ballots at hoophallawards.com. The player who receives the most fan votes will receive an additional vote from the committee.
Â
Roy, a 6-foot-5 senior from Oakland, Calif., is in his first season at Oklahoma State.
Â
Last year at Green Bay, Roy was the nation's leading scorer through the first 11 games before suffering a season-ending foot injury. At the time he was averaging 25.7 points and 4.4 threes on 43 percent accuracy.
Â
Roy picked up right where he left off in his unofficial Cowboy debut, finishing with 28 points and 12 rebounds in an exhibition win over preseason No. 20 Auburn. He was 5-of-10 from deep, including 3-for-4 during the final minute of regulation plus overtime.
Â
Oklahoma State opens the regular season next week with home games against Oral Roberts (Tuesday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m. CT) and Texas A&M (Sunday, Nov. 9, 1 p.m.). To purchase tickets, visit okstate.com/tickets or call 877-ALL-4OSU.
