Epps Advances Through Prequalifying Singles at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – Gracie Epps of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team advanced to the qualifying singles draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, with two wins on Sunday.

Epps first advanced with a walkover victory as Miami's Jaquelyn Ogunwale withdrew due to injury. She then defeated Notre Dame's Akari Matsuno, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, to become one of 16 players to advance through pre-qualifying singles into the qualifying draw.

Play in the qualifying singles and doubles draws will begin on Monday, with Epps and Marcela Lopez set for action. The pair will open doubles play against Tomi Main and Yu-Chin Tsai of TCU, while Epps will meet Duke's Irina Balus in the opening round of the singles draw. Match times are still to be determined.
