Nijkamp Completes Upset at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – Rose Marie Nijkamp of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team advanced to the Round of 16 of the singles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, on Thursday.
No. 53 Nijkamp upset No. 8 Maria Sholokhova of Wisconsin, 6-4, 7-5, to claim her spot in the third round.
Gracie Epps also competed on Thursday in the singles main draw consolation bracket, falling to No. 1 DJ Bennett of Auburn, 7-5, 3-6, 1-6.
On Friday, Nijkamp will compete for a spot in the singles quarterfinals and look to secure an automatic bid in November's NCAA Individual Championships in Orlando, Florida. She'll face No. 14 Irina Balus from Duke, with the match start time still to be determined.
