September 12, 2024 | Cowboy Basketball
Note: The date of the game at Tulsa has been changed to Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Oklahoma State released its complete non-conference men's basketball schedule today.
Â
The Cowboys officially open the Steve Lutz Era Monday, Nov. 4 against Green Bay. The 11-game slate also features a trip to the Charleston Classic, December dates with all three in-state rivals and a Big 12-Big East battle at Seton Hall.
Â
The 250th men's basketball meeting between OSU and Oklahoma is set for Saturday, Dec. 14 at Oklahoma City's Paycom Center.
Â
The Cowboys travel to Tulsa on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and play host to Oral Roberts on Sunday, Dec. 22.
Â
In addition to Green Bay and ORU, the Cowboys will also welcome St. Thomas (Nov. 10), Southern Illinois (Nov. 14) and Tarleton State (Dec. 18) to Gallagher-Iba Arena.,
Â
St. Thomas, an NCAA provisional member out of the Summit League, is one of three first-time Cowboys foes, along with Green Bay (coached by OSU's all-time assist leader Doug Gottlieb) and Tarleton State (last year's WAC runner-up, led by former Texas A&M and Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie).
Â
As previously announced, OSU will play three games in four days at the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic (Nov. 21, 22 and 24 in Charleston, S.C.) beginning with a quarterfinal clash against Florida Atlantic. The Owls are coming off back-to-back NCAA tournament bids, including a 2023 Final Four appearance.
Â
The Cowboys meet Drake or Miami on Nov. 22 and either Nevada, Seton Hall, Vanderbilt or VCU on the final day of the tournament.
Â
Drake and Nevada also reached the Big Dance last year. Seton Hall won the NIT championship and VCU made the quarterfinals.
Â
OSU and Seton Hall could potentially meet twice in a two-week span with the Pirates slated to host the Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 8 as part of the Big 12-Big East Battle.
