Becroft and Zink Prevail in First Round of NCAA Doubles Championships

STILLWATER – The Isaac Becroft and Tyler Zink pairing of the Oklahoma State men's tennis team advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Doubles Championships with a 6-3, 6-3 win over 15th-ranked Keshav Chopra and Marcus McDaniel of Georgia Tech on Tuesday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
In the round of 32, Zink wrapped up his singles collegiate career, falling to No. 15 Cooper Williams from Harvard, 6-7(4), 3-6. The graduate capped 2024 with 18 wins including eight over ranked opponents. He totaled 61 career singles victories with three years at Oklahoma State and two at Georgia.
In the afternoon slate, the Zink and Becroft tandem jumped out to an early 4-1 lead. The Pokes locked down two of the next four games to secure the first set of the best two out of three match. In the second set, Georgia Tech claimed a 3-2 lead, but the Cowboys bounced back and took the next four games to win the match. The pairing improved to 7-0 with six ranked wins.
The Cowboy duo will take on Duke's top-seeded Garrett Johns and Pedro Rodenas tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. CT.
