Cowboy Tennis Appears in ITA Rankings

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team appeared 33rd in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, which also included three singles players and a doubles pairing.
Tyler Zink checked in at No. 23, Alex Garcia at No. 71 and Isaac Becroft at No. 78. The duo of Zink and Becroft was slotted at No. 30 on the doubles side.
The team ranking marks the seventh-consecutive week the Cowboys have been in the top 35. With a 15-6 record, the Pokes hold the most wins since the 2019 campaign. OSU earned ranked wins over No. 5 Southern California on Feb. 10 and No. 11 Illinois on March 16.
Oklahoma State's court one player, Zink, again ranked in the top 25. It is his fourth highest, with all rankings coming in the top 30 this season. He earned ranked wins over San Diego's No. 5 Oliver Tarvet, Middle Tennessee State's No. 25 Leo Raquin, USC's No. 38 Peter Makk and Illinois' No. 39 Hunter Heck.
Garcia moved up six spots from his previous ranking of 77. The graduate senior is 11-4 in singles action, riding a three-match winning streak. Eight of his 11 wins have come on court two, including a victory over MTSU's No. 47 Marcel Kamrowski on Jan. 19.
Becroft holds the team lead for wins, with a 14-2 record. Starting the season 13-0, He owns the best OSU start to a season since Lucas Gerch in 2014. Becroft notched ranked wins over MTSU's No. 105 Ondrej Horak and Illinois' highest ranked player, No. 30 Karlis Ozolins on March 14.
The doubles pairing of Zink and Becroft appeared at No. 30, going 8-2 in the fall, and securing four matches in a row to win the ITA Fall Regional in Stillwater.
OSU will look to improve upon its ranking this weekend at home as it faces No. 5 Texas on Friday at 5 p.m. CT, before it takes on No. 31 Baylor on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
