Cowboy Tennis Signs Thomas Gadecki

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team has signed Australian standout Thomas Gadecki it was announced today by head coach Dustin Taylor
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tommy to Stillwater, Oklahoma State and the Cowboy tennis family," Taylor said.
Hailing from Queensland, Australia, the 18-year-old graduated high school in 2023.
In 2022, Gadecki claimed the U16 Australian Championships singles title in December, earning a spot in the Australian Open, where he competed in both boys' singles and doubles. He retains a 12.5 Universal Tennis Rating and an 11.4 World Tennis Number.
Earlier in the year, he represented Australia in the 2022 Junior Davis Cup in Turkey. Gadecki also won the 2022 J100 doubles title, reaching an ITF Juniors ranking as high as 300.
"His work-based mentality, dedication and passion for the sport makes Cowboy tennis the perfect fit for him, providing an environment that we are convinced he will absolutely thrive in," Taylor said.
Gadecki prides himself on his mental game, also describing himself as big-hitting and aggressive.
"He's big, he's strong and he wants to achieve big things not only with his tennis, but in his life. He sees this opportunity to be a stepping-stone to doing so," Taylor said.
He comes from a family with four older brothers and an older sister, Olivia, who is a professional tennis player. She ranks 171st in the Women's Tennis Rankings, with appearances at the Australian Open and the US Open main draw.
Gadecki will arrive in Stillwater for the fall season in 2024.
