Cowgirls Set To Play at Valspar Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State women's golf returns to action tomorrow to take on the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.
Competing in a field of six top-25 teams and 12 additional top-50 programs, the Cowgirls head to Augusta, Georgia, for its second straight season at the two-day, 54-hole event.
Oklahoma State concluded 36 holes in seventh place last season before inclement weather suspended and canceled the third round.
The Valspar Augusta Invitational starts tomorrow with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT. The field will play as many holes as possible, then play the remainder on Sunday.
Due to inclement weather anticipated on Saturday, the opening day of the Valspar Augusta Invitational was moved up to Friday.

With OSU entering its seventh tournament of the season, Bushnell and Silchenko are the lone Cowgirls to card scores in all 18 rounds this season. Bushnell has started in each tournament this season, while Silchenko has started in 5-of-6 tournaments this season, competing individually at the Schooner Fall Classic in the fall.
Carrying a 72.22 scoring average and seven par-or-better rounds, Bushnell is the first OSU freshman since Maddison Hinson-Tolchard in 2020-21 to earn a starting nod in her first seven collegiate tournaments.
"It's a dream come true, really," Hinson-Tolchard said. "I've been wanting to play this tournament [Augusta National Women's Amateur] for the last three years, and I've been working hard to put myself in a position where I was able to get the invitation. Now, that's become a reality, so I'm really looking forward to it."
As one of 72 women amateurs selected for the event, Hinson-Tolchard has continued to build her resume in America's Brightest Orange. Across 15 rounds this season, she has carded two top-10 finishes while being on pace to break Maja Stark's single-season scoring average of 70.48 with a 70.27 scoring average.
Hinson-Tolchard is the fifth Cowgirl in the last four years to compete at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, joining Rina Tatematsu, Isabella Fierro, Caley McGinty and Maja Stark.
Oklahoma State finished in seventh at the Valspar Augusta Invitational last season, ending day one at 9-over 585 before the final round was suspended and later canceled due to inclement weather.
The Cowgirls shot an 8-over 296 in the opening round last year, but gained momentum with a 1-over 289 to hang two shots back of sixth-place South Florida.
Maddison Hinson-Tolchard returns to Forest Hills Golf Club after concluding last year's tournament with her fourth of seven top-10 finishes in 2022-23. Hinson-Tolchard ended action with a 3-under 141 to close tied for sixth.
Thitaporn Saithip heads back to Augusta after making her first start of the spring season at the par-72 course last year. She rounded out play tied for 22nd at 2-over.
• Maddison Hinson-Tolchard notched her 100th career counting score as a Cowgirl to end the Chevron College, doing so with a bogey-free, 3-under 69. Hinson-Tolchard has carded bogey-free rounds in both spring tournaments.
• The Cowgirls have pushed its steady play into the spring ranking third in pars (175) at the Chevron Collegiate and fourth in pars (180) at the Puerto Rico Classic.
• Hinson-Tolchard led the Cowgirls with 11 birdies in Humble, moving her one birdie away from tying Lianna Bailey (2019-22) for fourth place in OSU's career birdies list at 341. Pernilla Lindberg (2006-09) holds the program record with 397.
