STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team appeared at No. 26, with two singles players and a doubles pairing ranked, in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's latest rankings announced today.
OSU's court one player, Tyler Zink, checked in at No. 26, while Alex Garcia landed at No. 62. On the doubles side, Zink and senior Isaac Becroft were ranked 28th.
The Cowboys hold an 11-3 record including a 9-2 mark at the Greenwood Tennis Center. OSU's only losses were to No. 12 Texas, No. 17 Memphis and No. 31 UCLA (current rankings).
Prior to falling to Memphis on March 2, the Pokes boasted a seven-match winning streak, where they outscored opponents 42-5 during that stretch.
In the Big 12, OSU owns the second-most wins (11) only behind Baylor (12-3).
Zink, the graduate senior, posted a 9-4 record, with all matches on the featured court. He added two ranked wins to his resume, including wins over Middle Tennessee State's No. 25 Leo Raquin and USC's No. 38 Peter Makk.
Garcia tallied an 8-3 record, all from the two spot. He is tied for third on the team in singles wins. The Spain native also added a ranked win over MTSU's No. 47 Marcel Kamrowski.
The Pokes will look to climb the ranks as they face San Diego on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT before facing off with No. 67 Tulsa in a midweek contest on Tuesday at 5 p.m. CT.
