Cowgirls Win In Record-Setting Fashion Against Chicago State

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team wrapped up its six-game homestand on Monday evening with a resounding 113-50 win over Chicago State in front of 2,080 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls improved to 6-0 with the win, while the Cougars fell to 0-8 on the year.
OSU set a trio of records on its way to victory, breaking the school's single-game marks for points (113) and 3-pointers made (16), while junior Micah Gray buried 10 3-pointers to shatter the program's single-game individual mark.
The Cowgirls took control of the contest early, hitting four of their first five 3-point attempts en route to a 12-0 lead three minutes into the game. OSU would extend the run to 24 consecutive to start the contest and force a Cougar timeout with four minutes left in the quarter.
Chicago State ended its drought with a pair of free throws at the 3:11 mark. OSU held the Cougars to a 1-of-12 effort from the floor in the period.
Gray hit five of her first six 3-point attempts during the game's opening six minutes on her way to a 15-point quarter.
In the second, OSU hit 12 of its 17 shots (70.6 percent) to extend its margin to 54-14 with 90 seconds left in the half. The Cowgirls would eventually take a 55-17 lead at the break.
Gray finished the half with 20 points after hitting seven of her nine shots, including a 6-of-8 effort from beyond the 3-point line.
In the third, Gray buried two more 3-pointers to match the school's single-game mark set by Jaden Hobbs against Syracuse in 2018 during the first round of the NCAA Championship.
The Cowgirls would continue their hot shooting in the frame, hitting 11 of their 19 shots (57.9 percent) from the floor to extend the margin to 81-36.
Gray opened the scoring in the fourth with a layup to become the third different Cowgirl this season to reach the 30-point mark in a game, joining Anna Gret Asi and Macey Huard. She would follow with her ninth trey of the game to stand alone on the program's single-game chart. Gray would go on to add her 10th 3-pointer of the game, which was the Cowgirls' 15th of the game to tie the program's single-game mark.
With less than two minutes to go, Maria Anais Rodriguez buried the record-breaking 16th trey for OSU.
Brenna Butler hit a layup for her first career field goal, giving OSU 112 points in the game to tie the school's single-game mark. Huard knocked down a free throw with 19 seconds left to give the Cowgirls their highest-ever point total in a game.
Gray would finish the contest with 36 points after hitting 13 of her 17 shot attempts and 10 of her 14 tries from beyond the arc.
Asi would add 16 points, Ténin Magassa scored 15 points, Huard scored 14 points and Jadyn Wooten added 10.
