STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's cross country still holds the top spot, with the Cowgirls coming in at No. 19 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches' Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Cowboys have held the No. 1 spot in each of the four polls in the 2024 season thus far after taking home the program's fifth NCAA title in 2023. In its lone competition, OSU defeated three ranked opponents in No. 8 New Mexico, No. 22 Oregon and No. 24 Texas at the Cowboy Jamboree on September 28.
In FloTrack's individual rankings, five Cowboys appear in the top 12 with Brian Musau (No. 3), Denis Kipngetich (No. 5), Victor Shitsama (No. 10), Fouad Messaoudi (No. 11) and Ryan Schoppe (No. 12). Two other Cowboys appear in the overall rankings with Adisu Guadie coming in at No. 35 and Laban Kipkemboi at No. 57.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls remained at No. 19 in the team rankings after their second-place finish at the Cowboy Jamboree, finishing behind only No. 17 New Mexico. Overall, the Cowgirls have appeared inside the top-25 of every USTFCCCA cross country poll since 2020 with the streak now reaching 30 polls in a row. The OSU men have also appeared in every poll since 2020, having not been ranked outside the top-10 since 2019.
