STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State women's golfer Angelica Pfefferkorn has been named the 2024 Everett Dobson Award winner.
Established in 2016 by the Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame in honor of its founder, the award recognizes outstanding male or female golfers who have recently graduated from an Oklahoma college or university.
Pfefferkorn will be recognized on Monday at the 2024 OGHOF Classic Golf Tournament at Tulsa's Oak Tree National.
"Angelica's story is truly amazing," said Oklahoma State head coach Greg Robertson. "She didn't get in the lineup for three years, but she kept working and working to get better. Last year she helped us get through regionals and into the NCAA Championship."
Pfefferkorn also receives a $5,000 cash award, which she will put toward medical school.
"I knew my end goal wasn't to play professionally; I've wanted to be a doctor since I was a little girl," Pfefferkorn said. "But I really wanted to play and contribute, and that's what drove me."
Pfefferkorn is Oklahoma State's second Everett Dobson Award winner. Men's golfer Jordan Niebrugge won the inaugural award in 2016.
