Cowgirls Down Southern Nazarene in Exhibition Victory, 81-46

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team opened its 2024-25 campaign with an 81-46 victory over Southern Nazarene on Tuesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The win improves OSU's streak in exhibition contests to 28, including the first three of Jacie Hoyt's tenure.
Stacie Jones led the way with 22 points. The Cowgirls had four scorers in double-digits, including Anna Gret Asi with 16, Macey Huard with 14 and Alexia Smith with 13.
Asi scored or assisted on seven of the Cowgirl's 15 points, as OSU led 15-12 after the opening quarter.
In the second, the Cowgirls outscored the Crimson Storm 27-8, behind eight points from Asi and six points from both Smith and Jones.
Heading into the locker room, OSU led 42-20 while holding Southern Nazarene to 25% shooting. Asi led the way at the half with 13, and Jones, the transfer from Mercer, tallied 12.
Coming out of the half, Jones opened the scoring with four straight points, and Asi buried her fourth triple of the night to extend the lead to 53-30.
The third quarter would close with Oklahoma State leading 57-35, after getting eight points from Jones in the period.
The Cowgirls closed the door on opening night with an 11-1 run in the fourth sparked by Huard's seven straight points.
OSU dominated the game inside. The Cowgirls outrebounded SNU 45-22 and outscored them in the paint 44-22. The Cowgirl's leading rebounders include Praise Egharevba with 11 and Jones and Smith both with eight.
Oklahoma State shot 46% from the floor and near flawless 12-13 from the line.
The Cowgirls open regular season play against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Gallagher-Iba Arena on November 4 at 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
