OSU closes out its Fall Season at the Charles Schwab Collegiate
October 29, 2024 | Cowgirl Golf
Fort Worth, Texas – A career-best finish from Thitaporn Saithip helped the Oklahoma State women's golf team to a fifth-place showing at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Challenge.
The 21st-ranked Cowgirls posted a 17-over, 869 over three rounds to finish ahead of Big 12 rivals Baylor and Texas Tech.
Saithip, a junior from Thailand, posted eight birdies over 54 holes to end the tournament at 1-under par (212) and claim the highest finish of her three-year OSU career. She was just three shots behind individual medalist, Cayetana Fernandez of Texas A&M.
12th-ranked Grace Kilcrease finished in the top-10 of all five fall events after tying for sixth in Fort Worth. It's the longest top-10 streak by a Cowgirl since the 2020-21 season when Isabella Fierro claimed six straight. The junior transfer from Tulsa carded a 66 in round one and put up 73 and 74 in rounds two and three, respectively.
Ellie Bushnell posted a solid 2-over, 73 on Tuesday to finish tied for 27th.
Competing individually, Lucy Darr fired a team-high five birdies on Tuesday in a 3-over, 74 performance that netted her a tie for 29th.
Fellow freshmen Tarapath Panya (+4, 75) and Summer Lee (+7, 78) finished 33rd and 50th respectively.
The Cowgirls are off for the next three months. They'll open the spring season Feb. 3-4 at the FAU Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla.
