Cowboy Tennis Shines At Cowboy Classic

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team was impressive on its home courts this weekend, winning 12 of its 16 matches at the Cowboy Classic.
OSU went 10-1 in singles play and 2-3 in doubles.
On Friday, Oklahoma State faced Wichita State in singles and SMU in doubles. In singles, Isaac Becroft defeated LliasWorthington, 6-2, 6-0, Alessio Basile took down Vanja Hodzic, 6-2, 6-3, Ian Bracks bested Luca Mindrut, 7-5 (7-4), 6-4, and Thomas Gadecki downed Arenui Luethi, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles, Becroft and Basile lost to Louis Cloud and Kale Mize, 8-7 (7-3), and Bracks and Gadecki fell to Vikas Deo and Liam Sunkel, 8-4.
On Saturday, OSU faced SMU in singles and Baylor in doubles. In singles, Becroft defeated Cloud, 7-6 (14-12), 6-3, Basile took down Deo, 6-0, 6-3, Bracks bested Sunkel, 6-1, 6-0, and Gadecki downed Mize, 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.
In doubles, the Cowboys grabbed a pair of wins. Becroft and Basile defeated Imarn Daniel Hazil and Arman Zamani, 8-5, and Bracks and Gadecki beat Justin Braverman and Luis Jose Nakamine, 8-2.
On Sunday, Oklahoma State faced Baylor in singles and Wichita State in doubles. In singles, Becroft defeated Hazil, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0, Gadecki bested Braverman, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Bracks fell to Luis Jose Nakamine, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Bracks and Gadecki dropped the lone match to Mindrut and Luethi, 8-4.
The Cowboys will now head to Tulsa for ITA Regional action beginning Oct. 16 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
