STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's cross country remained in the top spot of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches' Poll after defeating three ranked opponents at the Cowboy Jamboree, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Cowboys have been ranked No. 1 in each of the three polls thus far after winning the national championship in 2023. At the Cowboy Jamboree this past weekend, Brian Musau dominated the proceedings, breaking the 8k course record by nearly 10 seconds on his way to the individual victory. All five Cowboy scorers finished in the top six for a score of 19 points overall, taking down New Mexico, Oregon and Texas, who were ranked No. 8, 22 and 24, respectively.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls fell three spots to No. 19 after finishing behind New Mexico at the Jamboree. Overall, the Cowgirls have appeared inside the top-25 of every USTFCCCA cross country poll since 2020 with the streak now reaching 29 polls in a row. The OSU men have also appeared in every poll since 2020, having not been ranked outside the top-10 since 2019.
Up next, the Cowboys and Cowgirls will host the Weis-Crockett Invitational at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course on October 19 before kicking off postseason action November 1 for the Big 12 Championships in Waco, Texas.
