OSU Track & Field Returns to Arkansas for Historic Razorback Invitational
January 25, 2024 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State indoor track & field returns to Arkansas for the second time this season to compete in the prestigious Razorback Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.
Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls enter the meet ranked in the top 15, with the Cowboys at No. 8 and the Cowgirls at No. 13 in the USTFCCCA National Ratings Index.
Several OSU All-Americans will be competing across the board, with multi-events second team All-Americans Maddie Meiner and Olivija Vaitaityte opening with their first full Pentathlon of the season Friday.
On the track, 2022 Indoor 3,000 Meter national champion Taylor Roe opens her season in the 3K following a successful cross country season, earning her first Big 12 championship on the grass and becoming just the second Cowgirl in program history to earn four All-America honors in cross country.
In the men's Mile, Brian Musau is making his second appearance of the season after a blazing 3K at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston last month. Musau's time of 7:38.04 was the fourth-fastest 3K time in NCAA history as he also set the school record in the event.
Outdoor All-Americans and Big 12 Champions Billah Jepkirui and Gabija Galvydyte will be competing in the women's 800 Meters against a loaded field which includes several All-Americans in the middle-distance events.
Earlier in the season, Jepkirui ran the tenth-fastest 3,000 Meter time in NCAA history with her mark of 8:49.08 at the meet in Boston. Not to be outdone, Galvydyte currently ranks sixth in the NCAA this season in the Mile and set the school record in the 600 Meters two weeks ago at the Arkansas Invitational
The Razorback Invitational will be streamed live on SEC Network + starting at 5 p.m. CT on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
