Tyler Zink Earns Big 12 Player of the Week Honors

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Tyler Zink, a member of the Cowboy tennis team, collected Big 12 Player of the Week Honors it was announced today by the league office.
It marks the second time Zink has won the award, with the last coming on March 21, 2023. OSU swept the conference weekly honors, with Raquel Gonzalez winning on the women's side.
The Sarasota, Fla., native went 2-0 on the weekend in both singles and doubles action. Zink and his partner, Alex Garcia, dropped UTRGV's Emilien Burnel and Sam Whitehead, 7-6 (6) in the first match of the day.
He followed a doubles victory with a straight-set win over Burnel, 6-3, 6-3, en route to an OSU 6-1 win over UTRGV.
In the second match of the doubleheader, Zink and Garcia handled Omaha's Bryan Kuntz and Mikhail Korkunov, 6-2. Oklahoma State went 6-0 in doubles matches on the weekend.
He followed up with another dominant victory over Omaha's Ryoma Mishiro, 6-1, 6-3. Zink contributed to the OSU 6-1 rout over Omaha.
The Cowboys return to action on Friday against Middle Tennessee State at 3 p.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
