Alex Garcia Earns Big 12 Player of the Week Honors

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's Alex Garcia was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for his pair of matches played on March 3 and March 5, it was announced Tuesday by the Big 12 Conference.
Garcia is the first Cowboy to net the league's weekly honor this year.
The senior opened play versus Wichita State on Friday, March 3. Against the Shockers, he delivered the match-clinching point for the Pokes, defeating Alejandro Jacome, 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-1.
On Sunday, March 5, the Leon, Spain native recorded two crucial victories in a 4-3 win over No. 75-ranked SMU.
In doubles play, Garcia and Francisco Pini secured the doubles point for OSU, ousting Kyle Sillman and Julian Steinhausen, 6-2. In singles play, he was the first player to finish, defeating Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo, 6-4, 6-4.
Garcia placed a perfect 2-0 record in singles play during the week, finishing 1-1 in doubles play.
