Stailee Heard Garners Big 12 Freshman of the Week Honors

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this season, Oklahoma State's Stailee Heard has been tabbed as the Big 12 Freshman of the Week with the announcement of the league's women's basketball weekly awards today.
A native of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Heard averaged 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds, while shooting 52.2 percent from the field during two games at the Trailblazer Classic in Utah. The 5-11 guard was named the league's top freshman on Nov. 13 as well.
Heard helped the Cowgirls run their winning streak to five in a row with their victory over Utah Tech. She finished the game with six points, hitting three of her six attempts from the floor, and pulling four boards to go with two steals and an assist in the contest.
Against Oregon, Heard poured in a career-high 23 points to go with eight rebounds. She also logged two assists and a steal against the Ducks.
Heard connected on nine of her 17 field goal attempts and matched her career best with three 3-pointers in the game. It marked the ninth time in 11 games this season that she has shot 50 percent-or-better from the field.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Dec. 30 when they host Iowa State at 2 p.m.
