Cowgirls Picked Seventh In Preseason Big 12 Poll

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh among league teams with the announcement of the league's preseason poll on Thursday.
In a vote of the league's coaches, the Cowgirls received 99 points, putting them eight points behind Iowa State for sixth place. Texas was first with 168 points and 12 of 14 first-place votes.
Last season, the Cowgirls were picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll before going on to post a 10-8 mark in league play to finish fourth. Overall, OSU finished with a 21-12 mark and reached the NCAA Tournament in its first season under the direction of head coach Jacie Hoyt.
Yesterday, senior Lior Garzon was tabbed as preseason honorable mention All-Big 12 selection.
The Cowgirls will get their season underway on Oct. 31 when they host Oklahoma Christian in an exhibition contest in Stillwater.
