Cowgirls Get Back on Track With 82-74 Win Over K-State

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team snapped its two-game losing streak on Wednesday night in front of 2,081 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena with an 82-74 win over Kansas State.
The Cowgirls hit six consecutive field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers from Naomie Alnatas, in the early going to race out to an early 15-6 lead.
K-State cut the margin to 18-14 before OSU got a layup from Kassidy De Lapp and another trey from Alnatas to push the margin back to nine with a minute remaining in the period.
Alnatas and Milton combined for 17 points in the frame and staked OSU to a 25-14 lead through the first 10 minutes.
The Wildcats used a 7-0 run early in the second to get within six at 27-21 at the eight-minute mark. K-State would get within five before Lexy Keys buried a trey halfway through the period to extend the margin back to eight.
Keys would bury another 3-pointer from the corner to extend the margin to 39-29 to force a K-State timeout with 3:27 left in the half.
Alnatas would drill back-to-back treys, her fourth and fifth of the half, to extend the margin to 45-32. She finished the half with 15 points and OSU held a 45-36 lead at the intermission.
OSU reeled off a 7-0 run to start the second half capped by a trey from Lior Garzon to force another Wildcat timeout 90 seconds into the period with the lead stretched to 52-36. After the Cowgirls added two more, K-State answered with the game's next seven points to get within 11.
Garzon would drill back-to-back treys with less than three minutes to go to push the margin back to 64-46.
OSU would take a 68-52 lead into the final quarter.
K-State would knock down a pair of free throws with 6:36 to go in the contest to get within single digits at 70-61. The Wildcats would go on to score 15 of the first 19 points in the quarter to get within five with four minutes left in the contest.
Despite going without a field goal for the final six minutes of the contest, OSU was able to push its lead back to 10 at 77-67 with 1:11 to go on a pair of free throws by Claire Chastain.
Milton and Alnatas each finished with 17 points, six rebounds and seven assists.
