Hinson-Tolchard Named To ANNIKA Award Watch List

STILLWATER, Okla. – For the second-straight season, Oklahoma State junior Maddison Hinson-Tolchard has been named to the Preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List, an award annually given to the top U.S. collegiate golfer.
Hinson-Tolchard put together a spectacular 2021-22 campaign, in which she was eventually named both the Big 12 Player of the Year and a second team All-American. At season's end, she was the 28th overall ranked player in the GolfStat NCAA Player Ranking.
A junior, she completed last season with six top-10 finishes, including two individual tournament victories. She captured her first career tournament title at the Rapsodo Match in the Desert to open the spring schedule, before bringing home the second at the NCAA Stillwater Regional, defeating the field by two strokes.
At the NCAA Championships, Hinson-Tolchard played all four rounds of stroke play, advancing to the final day as an individual through a clutch playoff birdie and finishing tied for 31st.
Not only did Hinson-Tolchard perform at the highest level, but she did so at an incredibly consistent rate, as well. She played in every tournament on the Cowgirls' schedule last season, leading the team with 37 rounds played. Within those 37 rounds, all but were one counted towards the team's tournament score.
Hinson-Tolchard recorded a stroke average of 71.65 on the season, good for fourth best in Cowgirl history, and her mark .05 vs. par ranks fifth.
Throughout the season, the standout shot nine rounds in the 60's and 22 below par. Her 66 in the second round of the Mountain View Collegiate was tied for the best 18-hole score on the team and is just two strokes behind the best all-time round at Oklahoma State.
Furthermore, while capturing the individual title at the Rapsodo Match in the Desert, Hinson-Tolchard shot rounds of 67-67 (-10) 134, tied for the third lowest 36-hole score in school history.
This past summer, Hinson-Tolchard was busy playing in additional prestigious events. In August alone, she competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur at Chamber's Bay, as well as the World Amateur Team Championships, where she represented her home country of Australia.
Hinson-Tolchard is the latest Cowgirl to be selected to the watch list, following Maja Stark, who was named to the Final ANNIKA Award Watch List in 2021.
