STILLWATER, Okla. –Jaime Sanchez-Cañamares has been elevated to associate head coach for the Oklahoma State women's tennis team it was announced today by OSU director of tennis and Cowgirl head coach Chris Young.
"Jaime and I have enjoyed a lot of great moments together, dating back to him being on staff for our Elite Eight team in 2017 as he began his coaching career," Young said.
"Over the last three years as a full-time assistant coach with our program, I have witnessed his work ethic and passion for Cowgirl tennis on a daily basis and his promotion is a reflection of how important he is to the success of our program."
This past season, Sanchez-Cañamares helped OSU to a 20-6 mark and the round of 16 at the NCAA Championship. Individually, Ayumi Miyamoto and Lisa Marie Rioux advanced to the semifinal round of the doubles portion of NCAA play.

"I would like to sincerely thank our past, current and future Cowgirls. They make this opportunity so special on a daily basis with their continued dedication on and off the court and they are the ones who ultimately make this possible. I am extremely grateful to represent them and Oklahoma State University as a whole," Sanchez-Cañamares said.
"I would also like to thank Chris Young for his mentorship, support and the opportunity to work alongside him to make Cowgirl Tennis the most elite in the country, and the rest of our staff for all their contributions, especially to our strength coach Nick Hoheisel, our sport administrator Jason Lewis and athletic director Chad Weiberg for their continuous support of our team and the sport of tennis."
