Cowboy Tennis Dominates Charlotte, 4-1

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's tennis closed out the regular season with a return to the win column, logging a dominating 4-1 victory over Charlotte on Monday evening at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
With the win, the Cowboys extended their mark to 12-11 on the year.
Oklahoma State was quick to find its footing in doubles play, where No. 45 Tyler Zink and Seb Nothhaft were first to clear court one in dominating fashion over Thomas Brown and Mikhail Sokolovskiy, 6-2.
Through the entirety of play, courts two and three went point for point. But, Leighton Allen and Fran Pini eventually prevailed against Vasco Prata and Stefanos Savva with an impressive rally, 7-5, to give OSU the 1-0 advantage heading into singles action.
When the point was decided, Max Verboven and Alex Garcia were going back-and-forth with Coy Simon and Abhimanyu when play was halted at 5-6.
Charlotte's lone point from the matchup came from court five. Leighton Allen put together a consistent test to Vasco Prata but fell short in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 to knot play overall, 1-1.
Freshman Fran Pini halted the 49ers momentum with a straight-set victory of his own, taking down Coy Simon, 6-3, 6-4.
On court three, Max Verboven was relentless in securing an opening-set victory over Mikhail Sokolovskiy, 6-3. The 49er was quick to answer back in the second set, 6-3. Verboven put on an absolute show to claim the third set, 6-3, to notch another point for OSU, 3-1.
After dropping the first set, 6-1, Alex Garcia battled back against Stefanos Savva. The Cowboy regained his composure to effortlessly claims court two, 6-2, 7-5, to secure the win for OSU, 4-1.
When play was called, courts one and six were left unfinished. On court one, Tyler Zink was looking to close out play against Thomas Brown, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. On court six, Joseph Chen was on the comeback trail against Abhimany Vannemreddy, 6-7(8), 5-2.
The Cowboys are back in action at the Big 12 Men's Tennis Championships as they are set to take on Texas on Friday in Fort Worth Texas.
