Six Cowgirls Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

IRVING, TEXAS ---- No. 7 Oklahoma State women's golf had six student-athletes selected to the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Golf Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Lianna Bailey, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard, Rina Tatematsu, Emma Whitaker and Han-Hsuan Yu were named to the First Team while Hailey Jones earned a spot on the Second Team.
This is the third career Academic All-Big 12 honor for Yu, the second for Bailey and Jones and the first for Hinson-Tolchard, Tatematsu and Whitaker.
This extends Oklahoma State's streak of having multiple players selected for the Academic All-Big 12 Team to 11-straight years dating back to 2012. Since the league formed in 1996-97, Cowgirl golfers have combined for 76 Academic All-Big 12 selections, including 16 under third-year head coach Greg Robertson.
Overall, the team is comprised of 61 men's golf honorees (49 first team and 12 second team), along with 43 women's golf selections (36 first team and seven second team) and has a total of 85 combined first team honorees.
Among those nominated, seven were recognized with 4.00 grade point averages.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
