STILLWATER — Oklahoma State moved to 2-0 on the spring exhibition season following a dominating 4-0 win over UCO on Saturday afternoon at Neal Patterson Stadium.
The Cowgirls piled on the pressure early, with Olyvia Dowell nearly scoring within the first minute after making a run deep into the Bronchos penalty box before her shot was saved by the UCO goalkeeper.
The deadlock ensued until two minutes to go in the first half when Hayley Ledford was able to capitalize on a corner kick scramble and tapped the ball into the back of the net to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead going into the intermission.
Following the break, the Cowgirls were able to pile on the goals, scoring two within the first 20 minutes of the half.
Shyann McClary was at the heart of both goals as she sent in a beautiful corner that Ally Jackson was able to connect with a powerful header that fired into the back of the net to make the game 2-0. Just a few minutes later, McClary sent a ball over the UCO defense that Dowell was able to connect with and rounded the goalie to give the Cowgirls a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The Cowgirls weren't done yet as they added another goal by Alex Morris with under eight minutes to go in the match. Morris dribbled her way through the UCO defense and slotted it past the keeper to put OSU up, 4-0.
Despite some late attacks by the Bronchos, OSU able to hold on for the shutout.
OSU returns to action at Tulsa on March 26.
