Cowgirl Softball Drops Midweek Battle To UTA

ARLINGTON, Texas – The No. 10/9 Oklahoma State softball team dropped the final game of its two-game midweek road trip, 3-1, to UT Arlington on Wednesday.
The result snapped a six-game winning streak for the Cowgirls, who moved to 17-6 on the year.
Morgan Day (4-2) recorded the loss in the circle.
A UTA two-run home run in the second inning was enough to earn the victory. The Mavericks logged only two hits in their six frames at the plate but pushed another run across in the fourth inning off an OSU error.
Brianna Evans was responsible for the Cowgirl run. She homered in the third inning to extend her hitting streak to eight games.
"We got to get ready to go," Head Coach Kenny Gajewski said. "We got a really good weekend this week here and a long bus ride home to figure out how to get this team on the right track."
Looking ahead, the Cowgirls return home to play host to Wichita State and Kansas City in the OSU Mizuno Classic starting Friday. Tickets are available at okstate.com/tickets or by calling 877-ALL-4-OSU.
