Elish No-Hits Wichita State, Cowgirls Win, 8-0

STILLWATER – Miranda Elish pitched her second no-hitter of the season in an 8-0 victory over Wichita State at Cowgirl Stadium on Friday.
The Cowgirls improved to 18-6 with a victory that snapped Wichita State's five-game win streak.
Elish gave up no runs on no hits in a five-inning affair. It was the fifth no-hitter of her career and 49th in program history. She added three strikeouts and allowed two walks. She also went 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.
Elish has allowed just one run and struck out 25 in her past 19.0 innings pitched.
Eight Cowgirls added a hit in the contest, including second baseman Brianna Evans, who extended her hitting streak to nine games.
Julia Cottrill and Chyenne Factor led the team with two RBI each, including a hit and a walk. Cottrill hit her sixth home run of the season in the third inning, tying Chyenne Factor for most on the team. Factor hit a two RBI single in the fourth inning, scoring Katelynn Carwile and Chelsea Alexander.
The Cowgirls play again today at 5 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium against Kansas City.
