Oklahoma State Softball Routs Kansas City

STILLWATER – Kelly Maxwell pitched her way to another win, 9-0, over Kansas City at Cowgirl Stadium on Friday.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 19-6.
Kelly Maxwell improved to 8-0 on the season, remaining perfect. It was her sixth complete game.
Maxwell struck out 12 and only walked one in five innings of work.
Julia Cottrill hit a pair of home runs and the Cowgirls scored nine runs and banged out eight hits in the contest. For the season, Cottrill leads the team with eight.
"Kelly with a five inning, punching out 12," Head Coach Kenny Gajewski said. "It's just good to see up and down our lineup, these kids just having really good at bats. Good day, we've got to back it up now tomorrow against both these teams."
Chyenne Factor and Hayley Busby hit back-to-back solo home runs in the second to put the Cowgirls on the board. Cottrill hit her first home run of the game to left field in the third inning.
Brianna Evans singled home two runs in the fourth to extend the lead to six. Cottrill hit her second home run of the day, a three-run shot, in the fourth to give the Cowgirls nine runs.
The Cowgirls face Kansas City tomorrow at 2:30 p.m., followed by Wichita State at 5 p.m.
