Eight Cowgirls Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team produced a league-leading eight members of the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Team it was announced today by the league office.
Senior Abbie Winchester, who was named a Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award honoree yesterday, was one of three players in the league nominated with a 4.0 GPA. She was joined on the first team by senior Kassidy De Lapp, juniors Micah Dennis and Lauren Fields as well as sophomores Taylen Collins, Lexy Keys and Neferatali Notoa.
Senior Brittany Reeves was named to the second team.
The Cowgirls produced seven of the league's first-team selections and one of its 11 second-team honorees. OSU's total is tied for the seventh most by any program since the Big 12 was formed in 1995-96. Additionally, the Cowgirls have placed 43 student-athletes on the first team since 2015-16, more than any other team in the league.
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
