Maddi Swaney Inducted Into Marietta High School Athletic Hall Of Fame

STILLWATER, Okla. ---- Oklahoma State women's golf assistant coach Maddi Swaney was inducted into the Marietta High School Athletic Hall of Fame this past weekend in Marietta, Ohio.
Known as one of the best golfers in the state during her time at MHS, she was a three-time state qualifier, and narrowly missed winning the state title her junior year. Swaney notably registered two first and two second place finishes in her four Ohio High School Regional Championships and placed third at the Ohio High School State Championships in 2003.
"It's an incredible honor to be inducted into a hall of fame, and Maddi is very deserving of this," head coach Greg Robertson said. "She has had so much success as both an athlete in high school and college and she continues to excel as a coach. We're so proud of her and lucky to have her here helping to lead these young ladies on the golf team."
Swaney later went on to become a four-year letterwinner with the Golden Flashes at Kent State, where she had a career scoring average of 78.7, which ranked ninth in team history upon her graduation.
Her best finishes for Kent State were a trio of fourth place efforts at the MAC Championships in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She twice earned second-team all-MAC accolades in 2008 and 2009.
In the classroom, Swaney was a three-time All-America Scholar as selected by the NGCA and was also a three-time Academic All-MAC selection.
