Meet Notes (PDF)
The Basics
No. 2 Oklahoma State Equestrian travels to Fort Worth to take on No. 3 TCU in another Big 12 battle. The Cowgirls are 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play after a dominant win over Baylor it their last meet, 17-3. The Horned Frogs are 3-1 on the year and 0-1 in the conference, falling to Baylor 12-7 in their last meet.
About the Cowgirls
The Cowgirls are led by 24th-year head coach Larry Sanchez, fourth-year assistant Laura Brainard and first-year assistant Carter Anderson.
Fresh Face on Staff
Carter Anderson joins the Cowgirl staff as the Jumping Seat assistant coach after one season at UT-Martin, where she was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Equestrian Assistant Coach of the Year. In her one season on the UT-Martin staff, Anderson oversaw a group of jumping seat riders that was amongst the ECAC conference's best. The jumping unit collected 44 victories and 10 MOPs in fences to go along with 38 wins and eight MOPs in flat.
Conference Leaders
The Cowgirls went 9-1 against Big 12 opponents last season, including two wins on their way to a conference championship and two more at the NCEA National Championships.
Bounce Back
OSU dominated Baylor in its last meet, 17-3, getting redemption after a season-opening loss. The 14-point margin of victory was the largest by the Cowgirls since 2018, and their largest against a conference opponent in program history.
An Oklahoma State Win Would...
- give it three-straight wins and five of the last six against TCU
- improve the Cowgirls to 22-7 all time against TCU
- give it six-straight wins against Big 12 opponents
- keep the Cowgirls atop the Big 12 standings
Who to Watch
"We are looking forward to competing this Friday and the girls have been riding very well the past two weeks," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "It will be our first road meet of the season and we know that TCU will be a tough opponent."
