Lior Garzon Named To Cheryl Miller Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Oklahoma State's Lior Garzon has been named to the 20-player watch list for the 2023 Cheryl Miller Award it was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
Named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its sixth year recognizes the top small forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
A junior from Raanana, Israel, Garzon is in her first season with the Cowgirl program after transferring from Villanova. In 2021-22, she was named the Big East Conference Co-Most Improved Player as well as a second-team all-league selection.
She helped the Wildcats to a 24-9 mark and was the squad's second-leading scorer at 13.1 points per game while pulling 4.0 rebounds per outing as well.
The Cowgirls will get their season underway on Nov. 1 with an exhibition contest against Northeastern State at 6:30 p.m. in Stillwater.
