Several Cowboys and Cowgirls Move Up OSU Record Books At Red Raider Open

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed in their third meet of the season at the Red Raider Open on Friday.
Michael Releford was the highlight of the day for the Cowboys. In the men's shot put, he broke his personal record on his first attempt. Then, he did it again minutes later. His first PR was a 17.84m throw followed by a throw of 17.93m, putting him third all-time in program history.
In the women's weight throw, Senior Hannah Bradford took third place with a personal-best distance of 18.95m, which was also good enough for third in Cowgirl history. She broke her previous personal-best throw of 18.70m, which she set last week at the Arkansas Invitational
In the men's weight throw, the Cowboys took two of the top ten spots, with Zac Robbins in seventh, followed by Sam Mason in eighth. Robbins and Mason currently own the second and third best throws in OSU history.
The Cowgirls were also highly competitive in the 600y run. Tamara Woodley finished third in 1:23.03 followed by Tori Ortiz in fourth, and less than a second behind. Nicolette Dixon came in sixth with a time of 1:24.20. All three times were personal bests in the event and Woodley's time boosted her to eighth place in Cowgirl history.
In the high jump, Olivija Vaitaityte and Bailey Golden each posted jumps of 1.68m, which placed Vaitaityte eighth in the Cowgirl record books. Golden has previously jumped 1.75m and currently sits tied for third in program history.
Christina Ollison also put her name in the Cowgirl records, posting a time of 7.81 in the 60 Meter dash, which gives her a tie for tenth on OSU's all-time list.
Maddie Meiner and Vaitaityte also etched their names in the record books in the 60m hurdles, placing sixth and eighth in OSU history with times of 8.90 and 9.00, respectively.
In the men's and women's 4x400, both teams were able to finish in the top 10. The women finished in 3:41.38 which was seventh. The men finished eighth in 3:13.30. The Cowgirls' time of 3:41.38 was good enough to put them sixth in program history.
Christopher Middleton-Pearson came in third place in the mile run, posting a time of 4:18.81 in the process.
In the men's 3000m, sophomore Daniel Nickell finished in 8:44.16 which was third best in the race.
Michaela Travers and Mackenzie Michael each snagged top five finishes in the women's 800m, finishing third and fifth place, respectively.
The men's and women's indoor track & field teams next meet is the J.D Martin Invitational on Saturday in Norman, Oklahoma.
