Cowgirls Crowned Champions Of Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. – No. 3 Oklahoma State women's golf closed out its second tournament team championship in as many tries to start the fall portion of its schedule on Monday with a victory at the Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Golf Club. OSU shot a 5-under 275 in the final round at the par-70 6,112-yard course to secure the team title with a 20-stroke advantage over the second-place finisher.

The Cowgirls closed the tournament at 16-under as a team, while Caley McGinty secured the individual tournament title. She posted a 68 in the final round to finish the week at 8-under in the 54-hole tournament.

McGinty led the field in par-3 and par-4 scoring averaging 2.67 and 3.90, respectively.

Rina Tatematsu shot a 66 to close the tournament and secure a second-place finish at 4-under. She led the field in par-5 scoring, averaging 4.22.

OSU was one of just three schools to finish under par on Monday and the only to do so over the course of the tournament.

"Just overall a great weekend for everyone on the team," head coach Greg Robertson said. "Especially for Caley and Rina to finish one and two. That was impressive. We had everyone in the top-20 and four in the top-10. Just solid golf. Just right from the start they came out firing."

Maddison Hinson-Tolchard recorded her best finish as a Cowgirl. She closed the weekend tied for fifth after shooting a 70 in the final round to finish at even par over the 54-hole tournament.

Isabella Fierro finished tied for seventh, marking her ninth top-10 finish as a Cowgirl. She shot a 71 on Monday to finish the week at 1-over.

Clemence Martin finished tied for 15th at 3-over after shooting a 72 in the final round.

Competing individually, Han-Hsuan Yu finished tied for 54th after shooting a 75 on the day to finish the week at 13-over par.

Oklahoma State will continue its fall season at the Jim West Challenge in San Marcos, Texas on October 17.
