August 09, 2021 | Cowgirl Equestrian
Oklahoma State's equestrian team will welcome Jumping Seat rider Mackenzie Carreras to the team this fall.
"I'm most excited to meet new people and be in Stillwater," Carreras said. "I'm excited to get to have a team atmosphere. What brought me to OSU was the coaches being super nice and welcoming, and I liked the college town feel of the school."
Carreras makes her way to Stillwater via Arizona Connections Academy in Chandler, Arizona. Carreras has been riding for seven years and boasts honors such as a top 25 Usef medal finalist, top 10 in the 2020 Usef Prix De States and second at the WEF High Junior Jumper Classic this year.
"Mackenzie is such a hard worker and competitive rider that we are excited to welcome to Stillwater!" OSU Jumping Seat coach Olivia Dorey said. "She has had a lot of success in both the equitation and jumper ring, and she will bring a competitive drive to continue pushing this team to the next level."
Carreras plans to major in business with a minor in psychology. Her go-to pre-show meal is Starbucks.
