Zink Earns Doubles Main Draw Wild Card at U.S. Open

New York - Oklahoma State newcomer Tyler Zink was selected for a wild card into the doubles main draw of the U.S. Open it was announced on Friday.
ÂZink, who will be a junior for the Cowboys this season after a two-year run at Georgia, will rejoin doubles partner Elliot Spizzirri of the University of Texas. The tandem previously won the doubles title at the 2019 U.S. Open Junior Championships.Â
ÂThe two-time All-American finished the 2021 season with a final ITA ranking of No. 8 in doubles with partner Trent Bryde after tallying a record of 16-9. During his previous U.S. Open run, the junior collected a quarterfinal berth at the Orange Bowl that same year.Â
ÂAs a Bulldog, Zink earned All-America and All-SEC honors, while recording seven wins against nationally-ranked foes. He recorded a career-high ITA ranking of No. 26 in singles and No. 7 in doubles.Â
