Cowboy Tennis Bolsters Roster With Alex Garcia

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team has added Baylor transfer Alex Garcia to its roster it was announced today by Cowboy head coach Dustin Taylor.
"The future of Cowboy Tennis brightens again today with the addition of Alex Garcia! Alex comes to us with an extensive track record of success throughout his junior and collegiate career, including two years at top-ranked Baylor, where they reached the NCAA final this past season," Taylor said.
"His experience and understanding of what it takes to be among the best will prove to be priceless for this young Cowboy team moving forward. Not only is Alex going to make an immediate impact on the court, his high character and leadership ability, along with team first mentality, will add significant value to this program as we look to build a championship culture here in Stillwater."

A native of Leon, Spain, Garcia went 7-0 in singles action this past season while competing at the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 slots for the Bears. Additionally, he posted a 6-0 mark in doubles play, competing at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots.

In 2020, Garcia was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete during his first season in Waco. On the court, he played primarily at the Nos. 3 and 4 spots for the Bears, after missing time due to injury. Included among his victories was a straight-set triumph against Wisconsin to clinch the team's win at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

Prior to his collegiate career, Garcia won the Spanish National Championships three times throughout his junior career and carried a 13.6 UTR into college, slating him as one of the top recruits in the country coming out of high school. Along with his three Spanish titles, Garcia won the prestigious ITF J1 Villena Spain U18 doubles championship in his final year of juniors.
