Cowboy Basketball November To Remember Inside GIA
July 22, 2021 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER – It's going to be a November to remember inside Gallagher-Iba Arena as the Oklahoma State men's basketball team tips off the 2021-22 season with a key homestand.
Coming off a banner 2020-21 season that included a trip to the Big 12 Championship title game and the program's first NCAA Tournament win since 2009, the Cowboys return All-Big 12 Championship team member Avery Anderson III and two-time All-Big 12 Conference selection Isaac Likekele to a roster that also includes standouts Kalib and Keylan Boone, Rondel Walker, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and Bryce Williams.
Head coach Mike Boynton also added four talented transfers that have OSU poised for another run in March. Former Kansas standout and McDonald's All-American Bryce Thompson anchors an incoming class that also includes former Memphis big man Moussa Cisse, Texas Tech forward Tyreek Smith and former Syracuse wing Woody Newton.
The Cowboys will host Central Oklahoma for an exhibition game on Nov. 5 before opening the 2021-22 season with a rematch against UT Arlington in GIA on Nov. 9. OSU traveled to UT Arlington to open the 2020-21 season and came away with a hard-earned 75-68 victory.
OSU will also take on Oakland and Prairie View A&M on Nov. 12 and Nov. 14, respectively, before traveling to Uncasville, Connecticut to battle UMass-Lowell and N.C. State in the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Charleston will travel to Stillwater looking to avenge OSU's 73-54 win inside TD Arena back in 2019. The Cougars will visit GIA on Nov. 22.
Oral Roberts is coming off a magical run to the Sweet 16 thanks to the efforts of All-American Max Abmas, who scored 33 points in GIA on Dec. 8, 2020. Abmas returns to the lineup for the Golden Eagles, who will host the Cowboys at the Mabee Center on Nov. 26.
Tipoff and TV information, as well as the remaining Cowboy basketball schedule will be released when it becomes available.
Cowboy basketball season tickets are on sale now and start at just $150. This year, OSU is offering 20 percent discounts to those who purchase four or more 300-level season tickets. Visit okstate.com/tickets or call 877-ALL-4-OSU to purchase tickets or for more information.
