Thamchaiwat Moves On, Wolfberg Comes Up Short

ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State's Bunyawi Thamchaiwat advanced to the round of 32 at the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship with an impressive victory, while Alana Wolfberg wrapped up her season on Sunday afternoon.
"I'm really proud of both girls who competed today," OSU head coach Chris Young said. "They gave everything they had. Bunyawi is never out of the match and today she dug deep to find another level when she needed it."
Wolfberg came up short in a rematch with Missouri's 47th-ranked Bronte Murgett. Wolfberg fell in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5. The sophomore finished the season with an 8-8 record in dual play.
OSU senior Bunyawi Thamchaiwat was next in singles action. After dropping the first set, Thamchaiwat battled back and took set two to extend the match. In set three, Thamchaiwat trailed 4-0 before she reeled off five-straight games on her way to taking down No. 11 Viktoriya Kanapatskaya of Syracuse, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
Thamchaiwat advances to the round of 32 tomorrow with the potential to earn All-American status with a victory.
