Thamchaiwat, Wolfberg Set To Compete At NCAA Championships

Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Alana Wolfberg will begin singles competition at the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships tomorrow in Orlando, Florida.Â
Wolfberg will face Bronte Murgett of Missouri at 10 a.m. (EST) and Thamchaiwat will face off against Syarcause's Viktoriya Kanapatskaya at 5:30 p.m. (EST).
Murgett was 18-8 on the season for the Tigers and Kanapatskaya finished 10-5 for the Orange.
Thamchaiwat is an automatic qualifier for the event as the highest-ranking singles player in the Big 12 Conference, while Wolfberg earned an at-large selection.Â
Thamchaiwat was crowned the Big 12 Player of the Year after going 12-2 on the year in singles play. Wolfberg enters play in Orlando with an 8-8 mark on the season.Â
Singles action begins tomorrow and will conclude with the national championship on May 28. A player has to win two matches to be named an ITA All-American. OSU has had at least one player achieve this milestone each season since 2014.Â
