Distance Cowboys Represent at John McDonnell Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark. – In the third and final outdoor competition of Oklahoma State's triple meet weekend, a number of Cowboy distance specialists put up some notable performances.
Opening up the day from John McDonnell Field, Alec Haines and Sukhi Khosla tabbed top-15 finishes in the men's 1,500 meters. Haines finished in 13th in a time of 3:50.59, a season best, and Khosla took the 15th-place finish with a 3:51.06 pace.
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, it was freshman Jonas Price who paced the Cowboys across the finish line. His 8:57.50 career best pace earned him the runner-up finish. Joining him in the top 10, freshman Will Muirhead finished in sixth place in 9:04.36, while Bryce Quigley ended the race in eighth with a 9:16.71 pace.
Wrapping up the Cowboys' quick appearance in Fayetteville and Oklahoma State's weekend as a whole, Victor Shitsama raced a 13:53.45 pace in the men's 5,000 meter invite, earning him the sixth-place finish in an exclusive and supremely talented field.
Up next for Oklahoma State, its athletes will gear up for another trio of away meets. The Pokes will compete at the Longhorn Invitational at Texas, the KC Qualifier hosted at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Rock Chalk Classic at Kansas.
