Natasha Mack Named To Wooden Award National Ballot

LOS ANGELES – Oklahoma State's Natasha Mack was named to the 2021 Women's National Ballot for the John R. Wooden Award it was announced today by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
Selected by the Wooden Award National Advisory Board, the National Ballot consists of 15 student-athletes who are candidates for the Wooden Award All-American Team and Wooden Award Trophy as the most outstanding college basketball player in the country.
A native of Lufkin, Texas, Mack has constructed a decorated senior campaign for the Cowgirls. In addition to her Wooden Award candidacy, she was named a finalist for the Katrina McClain Award, a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award, was named to the Naismith Award Midseason Team and appears on the Wade Trophy Watch List.
Joining Mack on the ballot are South Carolina's Aliyah Boston, Connecticut's Paige Bueckers, Texas' Charli Collier, NC State's Elissa Cunane, Arkansas' Chelsea Dungee, Louisville's Dana Evans, Rutgers' Arella Guirantes, Michigan's Naz Hillmon, Kentucky's Rhyne Howard, Stanford's Haley Jones, Arizona's Aari McDonald, UCLA's Michael Onyenwere, Baylor's NaLyssa Smith and Stanford's Kiana Williams.
All balloted players have been certified by their university to meet or exceed the qualifications for the Wooden Award as set forth by Coach Wooden when the award was established. The qualifications include: candidates must exhibit strength of character, both on and off the court; must be full-time students in an accredited NCAA college or university, must be making progress toward graduation and have a cumulative 2.00 grade point average since enrolling in their school, must contribute to team effort, must excel in both offense and defense and should be considered on their performance over the course of the entire season.
Voting will take place from March 16th to March 23rd and voters take into consideration a player's entire season of play as well as the opening rounds of the NCAA Championship. The finalists for the award will be announced on March 26th.
