Natasha Mack Named To McClain List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Oklahoma State's Natasha Mack was named one of the Top 10 candidates for the 2021 Katrina McClain Award it was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Named after the two-time All-American and 1987 National Player of the Year, the annual award in its fourth year recognizes the top power forward in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered, candidates must exhibit the passion and mental and physical strength of Class of 2012 Hall of Famer Katrina McClain.
Earlier this week, Mack was one of 20 players named to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Watch List. Additionally, she appears on the Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year Watch List, was a unanimous preseason All-Big 12 pick and was named to the Naismith Award Watch List.
A senior from Lufkin, Texas, Mack currently leads the nation in blocked shots (75), blocks per game (4.2) and is second with her 12 double-doubles. She also leads the country with her 222 total rebounds and is seventh in boards per game at 12.3.
In March, five finalists will be presented to Ms. McClain-Pittman and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The selection committee for the Katrina McClain Award is composed of top women's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.
The winner of the 2021 Katrina McClain Power Forward Award will be presented on April 9, 2021 along with the other four members of the Women's Starting Five. Previous winners of the award include Oregon's Ruthy Hebard and Connecticut's Napheesa Collier.
