Oklahoma State Game Notes
• The Basics
23/22 Oklahoma State will host Kansas State on Saturday in its first home game as a ranked team since 2015. The Cowboys took last month's meeting against a short-handed Wildcats squad in Manhattan, 70-54, and are seeking their first four-game win streak against K-State since taking five straight from 2003-07. Saturday's game can be seen on ESPNU with Chuckie Kempf, Robbie Hummel on the call, and fans can listen to the game with Dave Hunziker and John Holcomb on the Cowboy Radio Network.
• Poll Presence
OSU checked in at No. 23 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 Poll, giving the Cowboys their first AP ranking since being No. 22 on Feb. 16, 2015. All-time, the Cowboys have been ranked in the AP Poll for 266 weeks, and Saturday's game against K-State will be OSU's 492nd as a ranked squad. The Cowboys have an impressive 347-144 (.707) record as a ranked squad. The Cowboys are also ranked No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which is OSU's highest in that poll since the Pokes were No. 19 on Feb. 3, 2014.
• The Future Is Bright
OSU is having success with one of the nation's youngest rosters. According to KenPom, OSU ranks 319th nationally in experience with an average of 1.14 years per player. In the Big 12, only K-State (1.04) has a younger roster. The Cowboys have a combined 23 starts by freshmen in 2020-21, which ranks 15th nationally.
• The Series With The Wildcats
This will be the 140th meeting between the Cowboys and the Wildcats in a series that dates back to 1922. OSU is seeking its second consecutive regular-season sweep over K-State, which would give the Cowboys its first four-game win streak against the Wildcats since taking five consecutive games from 2003-07. Overall, the Wildcats lead the series, 83-56, although OSU has a 34-27 edge in Stillwater. The Wildcats have a 41-18 lead in the Little Apple, although OSU has won three of the last five in Bramlage Coliseum.
