Oklahoma State Men’s Tennis Update
February 01, 2021 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's tennis coach Jay Udwadia has chosen to take a leave of absence effective immediately, it was announced today. Associate head coach Scoville Jenkins will assume interim head coach responsibilities.
Udwadia has served as head coach of the Cowboys since 2012. He and his wife welcomed a daughter late in 2020.
"I'm thankful to Coach Holder and Oklahoma State for giving Jenn and I the opportunity to focus on our family," Udwadia said. "There have been some unforeseen circumstances since our daughter's birth that require attention and this is a time for me to be the most supportive husband and father I can be.
"We have an excellent team and I know the guys will play hard for the school and represent OSU well," Udwadia said. "They are in good hands with Scoville."
Jenkins came to Stillwater in June of 2018 after four years as associate head coach at Wisconsin. Prior to that, he served as an assistant at Kennesaw State and Washington following a six-year professional playing career.
"We wish Jay well as he shifts his focus to his family during this time," OSU Director of Tennis Chris Young said. "We have confidence in Scoville and we know he'll do a great job. He knows our guys and he knows the game."
