Yochum, Dowell and Morgan Earn All-Region Honors
November 30, 2021 | Cowgirl Soccer
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Grace Yochum, Olyvia Dowell and Charmé Morgan each earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches all-region team, it was announced today. Yochum was a second-team selection, with Dowell and Morgan both earning third-team spots.
Yochum's 2021 all-region selection is the third of her career, as she was a second-team honoree in 2019 and a third-teamer in 2020-21. Also a three-time All-Big 12 honoree, Yochum played in all 18 games for the Cowgirls this season and despite playing in midfield, tied for the team lead in goals, points and game-winning goals. A menacing presence in the air who has been a target player on free kicks throughout her career, Yochum is third on OSU's career goals list with 33 and ranks ninth in program history with 74 points.
For Dowell, it's her second consecutive year on the all-region team, as she was a second-team honoree in 2020-21. A dynamic and skilled attacker, she tied Yochum for the team lead with six goals, 15 points and two game-winning goals in 2021. Her 49 shots and 22 shots on goal were also tops on the team and helped her to a spot on the All-Big 12 second team. Dowell moved into the top 10 on OSU's all-time assists list this season, with her 18 assists ranking 10th, and her 23 career goals is just one shy of cracking the program's top 10.
Morgan's one goal and two assists in 2021 don't fully convey the threat she presents to opposing defenses with her speed and ability to create width, especially in transition. A two-time All-Big 12 selection, she has been a significant and reliable contributor from her wingback position throughout a career that has seen her start 86 games and help Oklahoma State to a pair of Big 12 titles. This is the third consecutive season in which she has earned all-region honors from the United Soccer Coaches, as she was a second-team selection in 2019 and a third-team selection in 2020-21.
"Grace, Olyvia and Charmé have earned this award through hard work and top-level performances throughout the year," OSU coach Colin Carmichael said. "I am very proud of them and how they represent Oklahoma State University."
